At Reset, we LOVE the buddy system! Being in the creative industry can feel lonely sometimes when you’re chained to your computer. In the full spirit of #communityovercompetition, we wholeheartedly support the notion of attending a national conference with a friend! Start thinking NOW about who you want to attend with you in 2018!
At this year’s conference, Teran Stephenson and Misty Hart attended together. They live near each other so are competitors in the photography industry, but they are also friends who like to share ideas. They realize the value in learning from one another. We asked Teran a few questions about what it’s like to attend Reset with a friend. Read on!
What’s the best part of traveling to Reset with a friend?
1. I would say the best part about traveling with a buddy would be the opportunity to bounce ideas off of each other. Once we were loaded with information, we would meet back up for lunch or dinner and go over our ideas, what we got from each session and use each other as a soundboard. [Note from Reset: We LOVE this — the absolute best way to get the most bang for your buck at the conference.]
How long did it take you to get to Indy via car?
2. It took us about 2.5 hours
Would you recommend attending with a friend?
3. I would definitely recommend going with a friend. We used the entire time we were together for any meal or drive there and home to really chat about our business and where we see it going. It’s great to have others in the industry who understand!!!
Did you attend classes together or separately?
4. We didn’t attend classes together. We split up sessions, took notes and shared our notes from each session. There are things that Misty learned in another class (that I didn’t attend) that I was able to use in my own business and with social media!
That is so awesome, Misty & Teran! We want to encourage everyone to be thinking of someone you can ask to attend next year. We can’t wait to see lots more buddy photos in 2018!!!
