Hi! I am Tara Long from Tara Long Photography, and I am a maternity, newborn, child, and family photographer based in Springfield, Illinois. I specialize in storytelling through fine art photography, and am known for my ability to not only capture families with their natural connections together, but getting families to relax and have fun throughout the session, thus giving gorgeous portraits that hold REAL memories of families being together. My passion for capturing family photography came from losing my mother 14 years ago. I found that while looking for pictures of my mother for her funeral services that there just weren’t a lot of photographs of her. She was always the one BEHIND the camera. The few pictures that I do have of her, I just see absolute beauty and love! It is because of this experience, that I really encourage my Tara Long Photography “Mom” clients to be “present” in their sessions! I want my clients to see that they shouldn’t worry about those extra ten pounds or those bags under their eyes. One day their children will be looking back at these family portraits, and they will be so thankful that their beautiful mother was in the moments with them. It’s through sharing this experience that Moms with newborns, toddlers, children, teenagers, and adult children are all willing to step in front of the camera and let go of their inhibitions and just let their beauty shine right through during the session.
