My superpower is using design to attract and convert your ideal client! After years of designing and educating, I know just how essential good design is to your bottom line.

Whether you want to attract your dream client, grow your audience, or start selling your services like hotcakes, good design can do that for you!

1. Good design speaks for you through intentional branding

When you’re a service provider, you want people to want to work with you in part because of who you are. You don’t want someone to hop on a call or meet you in person and be surprised by how outgoing and fun you are. You want them to book with you because they can tell you’re outgoing and fun… and that starts with branding that reflects it.

To find the branding that reflects your brand personality, come up with 5 words you want your brand to be known for. Is your branding strong and serious, or soft and approachable? Fun and cool, or approachable and laid-back? Then, choose fonts, colors, and shapes that reflect these words.

Your branding should be created to accurately reflect your brand personality, so you can attract the right people.

2. Good design captures attention with great content

Real talk: People move through life at the speed of light, and they don’t care as much about what you’ve created as you do.

So your designs and assets need to be created in a way that captures attention and stops the scroll in a sea of other stuff vying for people’s attention.

One of the easiest ways to stop the scroll on social media is by using an enticing, prominently-designed headline.

When you create a headline that is the most prominent thing on the screen, you can grab someone’s attention and speak directly to them. That way, you can hold their attention long enough to convince them to read the rest of your post.

3. Good design gets your message read

You invest time, energy, and money into crafting the perfect copy to go on your website, social post, or PDF. But none of that effort matters if someone isn’t engaged enough with your design to read it.

When you use huge chunks of text on your website or in a design, people will likely gloss over it instead of reading the entire thing. Even the most clever or high-converting copy won’t work if it’s intimidating to read.

But when you use clear, enticing headings to break up the text, you’re designing in a way that keeps people engaged. Headings give readers a roadmap, allowing them to scan your content quickly and encouraging them to dive deeper… which makes it much more likely someone will actually read everything.

4. Good design drives action

If you want branding, a website, or a social post that converts, it needs to be designed in a way that gets someone to take action. And no, that doesn’t mean just slapping a “book now” button at the top of every webpage.

Instead, it means guiding someone to the thing you want them to do the most. A well-designed website will take visitors on a journey through their pain points that you recognize, to the solution you provide, to the results you’ve gotten in the past. And that journey should lead them to you as the solution.

That means every webpage has a purpose, whether it’s the About page that showcases your expertise, or the Portfolio page that helps the potential client see themselves in the work you do. And every webpage is designed to take someone to another webpage, to eventually lead them to book with you.

Whether their next step is booking a call, signing up for your newsletter, or booking a service, good design will make it clear to someone what their next steps should be (and entices them to do it without question).

5. Good design makes you trustworthy

Imagine you’re shopping online and get ready to check out. If you are suddenly taken to a check-out page that looks completely different from the website, you’d be suspicious and likely to not enter your credit card information. We’ve learned to be cautious of anything that doesn’t look cohesive in its design, whether we realize it or not.

When someone goes from your social media to your website to your lead magnets and each piece looks a little different, it can look phishy and untrustworthy – making it that much more unlikely that people will book with you.

But when your templates, fonts, and colors are consistent across every piece of your online presence, you create trust, consistency, and longevity in your brand – all things that are essential for a growing business.

Sometimes you just need to escape to the beach.

White sand. Emerald waters. Lounging by the pool with poolside service. Palm trees and ocean waves. Oh...and incredible education, too!
