Liz Drennan is a family, children’s, and maternity lifestyle photographer, based out of San Antonio, Texas. She’s sent us 2 photos for the “One Photo Challenge” that are completely different, but show us the scope of her work, and how she is pushing herself to learn new techniques!
This one of my daughter was taken with OCF. I wanted to practice something new (to me) and branch out of my comfort zone. Flash was/is something I struggle with, it is also something I want to get better at. I had some soft music playing in my office, my makeshift studio. She is my little ballerina so when I saw her close her eyes and sway to the music I took the shot. It is probably one of my favorites of her. Time stood still in this moment and I will always love this image of her.
For this shoot this mom to be hiked up enchanted rock just outside of Fredericksburg, TX. It was such a memorable experience. A fellow photographer and friend went with me and did a tag team shoot together. We had a concept in mind and wanted to work with OCF. The sun was setting and we were about half way up this huge rock. I went around and poked through the trees to see if I could get a different take on a silhouette shot. The trees framed her so beautifully. For me this image shows the beauty of God’s creation. A mother carrying her child, a beautiful sunset, and breathtaking landscape.
