Vanessa Hicks is a wedding photographer based in Hawaii. She will be leading a romantic wedding styled shoot at the historic Heigold Factory in Louisville. If you haven’t heard of it, look it up! As soon as the Reset team saw this location, we instantly knew there had to be a styled shoot there.

I’ve worked with hundreds of couples over the years in a variety of different locations but there is something about an urban shoot at sunset that captures my heart. With the sun moving through the tall buildings and the vertical and horizontal linear compositions beckoning to be featured… shooting in a downtown setting is a total win. Learn my secrets to making a couple’s session effortless! I teach you what questions to ask your couples, how to pose them and how to get them to relax before and during the shoot. Also how to look for interesting backgrounds and lighting to get that ultra-romantic vibe during your city session. Easy flow-posing that keeps your sessions moving but also allows you to confidently capture intimate moments that do not feel forced. Let’s not only get some amazing images for your portfolio but also let’s get your posing, lighting and working with couples nailed down!

Rediscover the FUN of family sessions! Sally will walk you through a family session in downtown Louisville, showing you how she interacts with families and how she maintains the energy. It’s all about loosening up and making the experience of shooting as fun and rewarding as the pictures themselves. She’ll encourage you to break out all the lenses, work your angles and use simple props and tools to engage and delight the family, all while using the environment, light and composition to tell a vibrant story.

Capturing the Authentic Childhood Adventures with Color and Composition with Erin Dorsey

Based in the St. Louis/Metro East area, Erin Dorsey is a wife and boy mom of 3. Capturing the in-between moments, the moments that show our children how much they are loved, the moments where laughter and imagination are intertwined…THAT is what inspires Erin, and why she feels so drawn to lifestyle family photography. In this city-inspired styled shoot, you will join Erin as she demonstrates how to use color and composition to produce stronger images, while documenting children in the most authentic way, allowing kids to be kids, yet giving them enough direction to tell an intentional story of the essence of childhood. Come along as Erin shares all of her tips on how to choose the right location and lighting and how to guide your family into selecting the correct clothing and props for your next child and family lifestyle sessions.
