Mager Image Photography spokesmodel programEmily Magers runs a successful wedding, senior, and boudoir business around Paxton, Illinois.  Her senior spokesmodel program has been growing like crazy the past couple of years, and she recently took her current group to Chicago for a day of fun and photography.  Check it out!
From Emily:
The coveted spokesmodel program. Every year, I seek out applicants for the upcoming senior year in search of an amazing team of seniors who would love to represent Mager Image. Going strong for five years now, the program has evolved, and the girls on my team love what they do. It’s not only an amazing opportunity to earn cash off your senior session, but a great way to make new friends. This year we hosted our second annual senior group photoshoot, where the girls enjoyed playing with all things color, everything from colorful makeup, smoke bombs, confetti, and more! It was a blast. One thing new to the program this year are our “pop-up” photoshoots. These are scheduled at random, and each shoot serves a different purpose, theme, or idea. Our latest pop-up (and my personal favorite thus far) is our day-trip to Chicago! For central Illinois girls, Chicago is not something we visit on the frequent, so the city offers a great adventure, and a bit of a challenge for me as the photographer.
With about a month to plan, we coordinated travel plans, chaperones, location ideas, and wardrobe. The girls stuck to a fall color palette for their outfits, which was a bit of a challenge considering the heat wave that took Illinois from low 60 degree weather one day and upper 80 degree weather just in time for our trip! We did luck out with an overcast day, which was both a blessing to me as the photographer since I didn’t have to worry about harsh sunlight in our photos and the girls who all would have had to walk around in it. We walked all over, starting from where we got off the train at Millennium Station, the ever popular “Bean”, to Buckingham Fountain, the Planetarium, and after a Starbucks stop, took our very last shots in the train station itself! Shooting all over new territory was a blast, but I think my favorite memory from that entire day was piling all 10 people into two pedicabs (think horse-drawn carriages but with a bicyclist instead of a horse) and riding a mile and a half to the end of the Planetarium property. By that point in the day we were all tired, worn out, and hot, so making the quick decision to pay for a pedicab to haul us to our destination was the best decision we made all day! The girls all still rocked their session despite the heat, though it was tempting to jump into Lake Michigan as we shot near the Planetarium which is right on the water.
All in all, we had a blast. I loved exploring the city with this group of girls (though we did miss those who couldn’t join us!) and hope to travel up to the city more for upcoming photoshoots, whether they be engagement sessions, weddings, or senior photos!
